Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about staking and delegating with FURI.

What is staking with a Proof-of-Stake validator?

Staking means delegating your tokens to a validator that helps secure a Proof-of-Stake network. The validator runs the node infrastructure, and delegators earn a share of the network's staking rewards, minus the validator's commission.

Is delegating to FURI non-custodial?

Yes. Delegation happens on-chain from your own wallet. Your tokens stay in your custody: FURI can never move or withdraw them, and you can redelegate or undelegate whenever you want.

Which networks can I stake with FURI?

FURI validates on 12 networks: Celestia, Cosmos, Quicksilver, Quasar, Stride, Andromeda, Gitopia, Aura Network, Kujira, Umee, Sei, Nolus.

How do I delegate to FURI?

Open a wallet that supports the network (for example Keplr or Leap for Cosmos chains), go to staking, find FURI in the validator list, enter the amount you want to delegate and confirm the transaction.

Can I unstake at any time?

Yes, but most Proof-of-Stake networks have an unbonding period before your tokens become transferable again, for example 21 days on the Cosmos Hub. You do not earn rewards while tokens are unbonding.

What are the risks of staking?

The main risks are slashing, where a network penalizes a validator for downtime or double-signing, the unbonding period, and changes in the token's market price. Choosing a professionally operated validator reduces the operational risk.
